1. Subject area

Public distribution networks are located between :

  • source substations, which receive energy at high voltage above 50 kV (high voltage level B or HTB), transform it and send it to high voltage, between 1 kV and 50 kV (high voltage level A or HTA);

  • private delivery points with HTA/BTA substations, for a company, or low-voltage connections, between 50 and 500 V (low-voltage level A or BTA), for a private individual who receives energy on his connection.

Note :

the abbreviations used correspond to the voltage ranges defined in the UTE C 18-510 publication of November 1988, approved by the interministerial decree of January 17, 1989. In particular, they no longer refer to "medium voltage (MV)", but to "high voltage level A (HTA)"....
