4. Modelling the complete module

The decade of the 2010s saw a trend towards integration among economic players in the radio frequency module sector. Where the market was initially split between filter manufacturers, power amplifier manufacturers and module manufacturers, mergers and acquisitions have led to a reduction in the number of players, and a virtual disappearance of the single-filter offering. Integrated players now supply multiplexer modules, or even complete transmitters, with much greater added value. Against this backdrop, it has become necessary for designers to move on from designing single filters, where only the filter chip was to be considered, to designing complete modules, including the various elements such as filters, passive components and even amplifiers.
