3. Broadband interceptor with parallel analysis
3.1 Goal
The emergence of stealth waveforms with rapid frequency evasion calls for the use of broadband interceptors, i.e. those capable of instantaneously acquiring a significant ΔF portion of the emission's hopping band, to provide an image of radio activity in the shortest possible time and the widest possible band.
Broadband interception must, however, retain sufficient spectral resolution to correspond roughly to the channelization and instantaneous bandwidth b of the intercepted signal, otherwise it loses sensitivity. Parallel analysis appears to be the answer to this dual requirement.
