8. Use of ash in binders and cements

8.1 In hydraulic road binders

Considered as one of the main constituents in the manufacture of these products, they must meet the specifications defined in the standard – NF P 15-108 of December 2000: "Liants hydrauliques routiers – Composition – Spécifications – critères de conformité".

Another standard that applies to mixes treated with hydraulic road binders is NF EN 14 227 – Part 5 (NF P 98-887 – Part 5) February 2005 – "Mixes treated with hydraulic road binders" – Specifications – Part 5: Mixes treated with hydraulic road binders, whose scope covers siliceous and calcareous fly ash used in mixes treated with hydraulic road binders for roads, airports and other trafficked areas.
