6. Use of fly ash in pavement structures

Our presentation will focus on the most common types of conventional silica-alumina ash, based on the recommendations of the Predis Nord-Pas-de-Calais Guide, which has benefited from extensive feedback from the region over the past few decades.

Techniques for using fly ash depend on the availability and proximity of products competing with granulated slag. They are still used, but to a lesser extent, mainly in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region.

6.1 Applicable standards

For road use, silica-alumina fly ash must meet the specifications defined in the following European standards: NF EN 14 227 – 3 and 4 (February 2005), respectively entitled :
