11. Environmental regulatory status

11.1 Applicable regulations

Please refer to the texts in [Doc. C 5 374].

The specific status currently applicable is defined by Ministry of the Environment circular no. 96-85, dated October 11, 1996, on fly ash from the filtration of fossil fuel flue gases in facilities classified for environmental protection.

This circular, still in force in 2008, specifies the conditions for recovery and, where recovery is not possible, the conditions for disposal of ash resulting from the fibration of flue gases from fossil fuels in thermal plants. This circular does not deal with the specific case of residues produced when these flue gases are treated by washing, reagent injection or any other equivalent means, nor with residues from combustion...
