Presentation of the section

The "Metal forming and foundry" section covers all these issues, and is subdivided into five main sections.

• Metal forming: mechanical and thermal aspects

  This section includes articles describing the plasticity of metals at hot and cold temperatures, the mechanical analysis of forming processes and the thermal effects of forming. It concludes with an article on induction heating in metal processing and an article on the weldability of metallic materials, both of which describe the reaction of metal to high temperatures.
