7. Extraction of bismuth from non-ferrous raw metals

The world's bismuth production comes mainly from the extraction of bismuth from non-ferrous raw metals. In the case of bullion lead, bismuth is a co-product of lead. In the case of raw copper and tin, bismuth is an impurity that should be eliminated rather than recovered, as it leads to a depreciation of the metal with which it is associated.
