1. Why check the biocidal product?

The aim of European biocidal regulations, introduced by directive 98/8/CE and now repealed and replaced by règlement 528/2012 (both available at Europa ), is to ensure a high level of protection for humans, animals and the environment, by restricting the marketing of biocidal products to those of proven efficacy, and which do not present unacceptable risks for humans and the environment.
