3.1 The ISO 9004 QMS model

At the heart of the ISO 9000 family of standards is the process model and the PDCA cycle (see ISO 9001 Vademecum [FIC 0381] ). The process model proposed by ISO 9004, version 2009, incorporates the elements of ISO 9001 and, as shown in the diagram below, proposes a much broader approach to quality management:
