7. Mistakes to avoid
7.1 Don't overlook measures imposed on your operation by a neighboring site's PPI.
In the absence of a major risk associated with your operation, personnel may be exposed to an external hazard (e.g. formation of a toxic cloud on a neighboring site and movement over your site).
Perhaps you haven't taken this type of hazard into account in your accident scenarios.
In the event of a disaster, you run the risk of not having planned the right response, or of your staff not being sufficiently trained and safe.
For example, in the event of a toxic cloud passing over your site, the correct reaction would be to confine people. But if this isn't planned in advance, your staff could confuse the warning signal with that...
