4. What do the POI and PPI contain?

Based on hazard scenarios, the POI and PPI describe :

  • accident scenarios considered ;

  • disaster response measures ;

  • human resources and organization ;

  • the information needed to assess the possible consequences and the resources to be deployed;

  • periodic exercises to test planned measures in real-life conditions.

In the case of the PPI, the resources envisaged are more extensive than for the POI. These may include alerting the population (by radio, for example), supporting hospitals, closing roads, using police services, etc.
