6. Our advice

6.1 Keep track of your ICPE positioning

Follow it, even if your installations are not originally classified under the law on classified installations.

It's vital to regularly review your ICPE status, even if none of your facilities were classifiable under any of the headings in the ICPE nomenclature when you started up.

In fact, during the life of a facility, changes in activities or developments in existing activities sometimes lead to significant modifications in the initial ICPE positioning. These modifications can give rise to new environmental constraints, as demonstrated by the example of a sawmill.
