What scales should be used for maps and plans?

The regulations set a scale of :

  • 1:25,000 or 1:50,000 for the map showing the location of the proposed plant;

  • 1/200th for the overall plan showing the proposed layout of the installation.

For the latter, a reduced scale can be provided at the request of the applicant. To do so, he or she can attach a letter to or following that of the authorization application, giving reasons (particularly when the site is very large and a scale of 1:200 would not allow the entire perimeter to be shown on a single plan).
