2. Contents and links with the prefectoral operating authorization order

Like the decree of February 2, 1998, the sectoral decrees specifically regulate the activities to which they refer. They lay down the minimum technical requirements applicable to these facilities, with a view to preventing and limiting to the lowest possible level the pollution, waste, nuisances and risks associated with their operation.

Each sectoral decree includes :

• specific emission limit values for particular parameters representative of the activity (e.g. water discharge values for a range of heavy metals for surface treatment activities, or legionella air emission limit values for cooling towers);

• special conditions for monitoring emissions and even environments,
