1. Inform the administration of the cessation of activity

When a classified facility subject to registration (article R. 512-46-25 of Code de l’environnement ) or authorization (article R. 512-39 of Code de l’environnement ) is permanently shut down, the operator must notify the Prefect of the shutdown date.

1.1 When is notification required?

The operator must inform the Prefect at least three months before ceasing operations. This period is extended to six months in the case of quarries and waste storage facilities subject to authorization....
