4. What are the main MMRs used to prevent a BLEVE?
To prevent a BLEVE, it is necessary to limit the heating of the tank subjected to thermal stress. Various technical solutions are available to achieve this:
cooling the envelope with a water film or spray;
under embankment ;
the use of PFP (passive fire protection) thermal protection systems, including intumescent paints;
valves.
