6. Mistakes to avoid
6.1 Don't forget to meet your environmental information obligations when selling a property
According to articles L. 514-20 and L. 125-7 of Code de l’environnement , if pollution is discovered after the sale/rental of your land, whether built or unbuilt, and this pollution renders the property incompatible with the predefined uses, the purchaser may request compensation. In other words, the contract of sale can be cancelled, the property restored at your expense, or the initial sale price reduced. The buyer has two years from the discovery of the pollution to take action.
