3. Getting through customs

Customs regulations are often all the more incomprehensible the further away they are from us. If your customer has unquestionable experience of the country and its legislation, you can certainly benefit from his or her experience. If this is not the case, it would be preferable to enlist the help of a local agent. Be careful when choosing this intermediary. In many cases, joint chambers of commerce or embassies will help you make the right choice. It goes without saying that this entails additional costs, which should be taken into account.

If your customer undertakes to help you clear and transport your equipment through customs, it is essential to know in advance the nature and amount of these additional costs, and to define who will pay for them.
