 INTRODUCTION

You've set up your working group, carried out the investigative work and defined the aim and challenges of functional analysis (FA). The user's needs have been understood and recorded in the specifications (see Using functional analysis to create a new product: preliminary work and implementation stages [FIC 0661] ).

This sheet allows you to find all the functions, recognize their typology, and check their validity, but :

  • What kind of need are we talking about?

  • What functions are we talking about?

  • How do you count them all?

This sheet will help you :

  • understand the vocabulary and mindset of functional analysis (FA) ;

  • recognize the different functions related to the user's needs ;

  • use standardized names and diagrams ;

  • understand the points of view that allow us to find all the functions.

This will make it easier for you to carry out your own functional analysis (FA).
