1. Understanding the product life cycle

The life cycle is the totality of all the phases in the existence of a product, from its birth to its disappearance.

Each life cycle phase has its own specific needs. We then need to determine the corresponding "main" service functions (PS or usage functions). They contribute to the realization of the need in that phase of life.
