4. Controlling time

Time is an absolutely critical resource for every project. The planner and the project team need to be constantly on the lookout for floats in the schedule. Ensuring that contingencies are taken into account for all key project deliverables must be an ongoing objective for planners and project managers.

Float management is one of the key tasks in project management.

The construction of the initial schedule must of course take into account the reality of the sequence of deliveries on site, if the builder is dependent on third parties controlled by the customer.

Civil engineering is a typical example, with its own constraints, work methods and progress, since the constraints of this profession mean that certain activities cannot be postponed or reversed.
