6.1 Don't overlook the reality of risk
One of the most common mistakes in risk analysis is not taking risks, but not having a clear vision of the situation. Taking a step forward when you're 30 meters from a precipice poses no problem. On the other hand, doing so when the only information you have is that you're between 30 metres and 50 centimetres from the void can be far more problematic.
