3. Creating an effective relationship by building trust

The special feature of virtual teams is that work progresses essentially because there is mutual trust between team members. For this reason, a virtual team manager needs to invest a great deal of time and effort in the processes that create the trust required for tasks to be carried out efficiently.

3.1 Ask the team for trust

It's all about getting off to a good start when team members don't yet know each other. Trust capital is what team members are prepared to give without asking for immediate consideration.
