5. Adapting to real needs

Even if this type of procedure seems to be the best way to operate, at some point it will be necessary to respond to actual needs. And these needs will have to correspond to one of three scenarios, which we can summarize as follows.

  • This is a new site, and production will have to meet actual demand in terms of output. In this case, we'll essentially have to adjust the distributions between the different shades (continuing with the concrete example of the first stages). But it's safe to assume that actual allocations will be in line with the estimates on which this ramp-up was planned.

  • The aim is to replace a line destined for destruction by a modern one, without changing the type of material: as soon as possible, the lines should be run as close as possible to nominal output, for fractions of a day or shift....
