2. Know how to set up the various ramp-up systems

It should be pointed out that this debate only takes place in the presence of a problem where we have :

  • a large number of shades;

  • each shade being the subject of a different, unknown request.

If we had a choice of three evenly-spaced shades, the debate would be over.

There are two different ramp-up systems:

  • either you start by introducing the least popular of the shades, and by doing so, you take no risk, unless the orders are insufficient to conclude on the success of the ramp-up;

  • or start by testing all the shades, then introduce the most popular one on the line, even if this means saturating the retouching medium for some time.
