Is the use of renewable resources necessarily preferable?
This is not necessarily the best solution. There are three reasons for this:
The use of these renewable resources can give rise to significant supply logistics, making them less attractive.
The renewable material itself, if intensively cultivated, can give rise to a new imbalance in ecosystems, ultimately harmful to the environment (as in the case of the production of plant resources for first-generation biofuels).
Finally, the question of the end-of-life of this renewable material is also an important issue.
Is the use of biosourced plastics a solution to packaging problems?
