7. Mistakes to avoid

The impact transfer that can occur when :

  • Excessive reduction of material quantities is implemented. Reaching the limit of a material's performance should lead us either to backtrack on this reduction, or to look for new materials.

  • Gains made on the primary packaging level imply non-compensating performance losses on the other packaging levels.

  • The creation of closed packaging loops (allowing re-use) for which the environmental impact due to logistics exceeds that avoided by re-use.
