3.1 Check the terms of the contract you are about to sign
While the State and larger local authorities may have in-house legal assistance, this is not necessarily the case for smaller communities. Entering into a contract without having complied with the rules governing its award, which are binding on both you and the local authority, exposes you to payment difficulties on the part of the public accountant.
