2. Use the facilitation required by the specific context of virtual teams

Lack of contextual awareness is at the root of many problems in virtual teams.

It is therefore essential for the project manager, in his or her role as facilitator, to encourage processes and initiatives that provide a better understanding of the team members' environment and constraints.

2.1 Facilitating acceptance, within the team, of not understanding everything

We also need to encourage team members to accept that they can't explain everything. This reduces the reflex to undermine trust in the absence of an explanation.
