4. How do you build your indicators and measure your ROI?

4.1 Watch service indicators

Indicators that can be put into figures to demonstrate the effectiveness of the actions taken thanks to the intelligence system are complex to obtain, as they require traceability of the information (from its collection to its exploitation) and of the need to which it responds. However, because of its relatively broad dissemination mechanisms, monitoring does not necessarily systematically respond to a need or demand.

However, it is possible to set up quantitative indicators to measure the activity of the watch unit:

  • number of sources monitored ;

  • number of data items collected ;

  • number of information retained ;...
