 INTRODUCTION

The concept of eco-design, one of the essential elements in the implementation of a sustainable development approach, is integrated in different ways depending on each company's business sector and strategy.

This fact sheet describes the eco-design approach in a product development process (from concept to product launch), applied to the office furniture sector, through a real case study. It will shed light on the challenges that a project team may have to face throughout the process. This concrete example is proposed by Steelcase, which presents the initiatives undertaken to eco-design its "B-Free" product range.
