Integrating eco-design, or even eco-innovation, into product development is not a foregone conclusion. To do so, it is necessary to :
try to fit as much as possible into the existing project management system and tools, rather than developing an eco-design management system in parallel;
ensure strong support from top management and key departments, such as marketing in the case of Steelcase;
