7. Our advice

7.1 Include all product development team stakeholders in your eco-design approach

Integrating eco-design, or even eco-innovation, into product development is not a foregone conclusion. To do so, it is necessary to :

  • try to fit as much as possible into the existing project management system and tools, rather than developing an eco-design management system in parallel;

  • ensure strong support from top management and key departments, such as marketing in the case of Steelcase;

  • to be a source of ideas, but above all to encourage suggestions from other departments involved in the project, in particular design and R&D; they can be used more easily since they will have been...
