7. Prospects are emerging!

In the first stage, the networks that are set up are specialized in one area, one type of object, one type of transmission, even within the single health and social package. Eventually, however, the current situation cannot continue: equipment located in the same space (particularly a home) must be able to use the same access points (to avoid the multiplication of specific access points). Non-health data flows (such as temperature) must be able to be associated. The object itself will be used in multiple contexts. This is also essential from an industrial point of view.

Until a system of interconnection standards has emerged, players in the transport networks will play an essential role in connecting objects, in association with major players offering a range of services. This is what is beginning to happen with homecare aids for the chronically ill and the elderly....
