5. Disseminate or capitalize on the results of your competitive intelligence

It's important to understand that monitoring is an action-oriented process. As a result, many intelligence systems have a limited capitalization function, and focus on rapid, targeted dissemination of the information they collect.

The capitalization function does, however, offer certain advantages. For example, it can be useful to have access to historical information on a competitor, in order to decipher its longer-term strategy from time to time.

Thus, dissemination and capitalization must meet various objectives and imperatives:

  • diffusion :

    • target the right person with the right information,

    • shorten transmission times to increase the company's reactivity,

    • arouse interest...
