Competitive intelligence is the monitoring of competitors' news and activities. Competitive intelligence can cover a wide range of subjects, such as patents filed by competitors, identification of their market share and prices, production capacity, social policy, recruitment and departures, etc.

The objective is unique: to have as much information as possible on competitors, so as to decipher their moves as early as possible, and even "guess" what they're going to do.

But for whom do you conduct competitive intelligence? To whom should the results be disclosed?

There is no single, uniform dissemination of competitive intelligence results. However, one important point must be emphasized: like all information, competitive intelligence results will be clearly interpreted and fully exploited if they are understood....
