4. Expose the concept to community feedback and exploit the results
This is the phase of concept testing and product idea generation.
The aim of this phase is to turn the concept into a more tangible product by literally "feeding it" to a wider community.
Communities operate on a voluntary basis, with no expectation of financial return, but rather a need for exchange or recognition. In an open environment, it's difficult to frame exchanges. The role of the focus group is therefore crucial in sorting out the ideas that can be used from those that are not.
The call for contributions is a process that enables more targeted action towards structured communities (e.g. the French Diabetic Association).
