4. Our advice

  • Use this tool to bring comprehensiveness to the technology watch process, but don't regard it as the preferred source of information. It's a (very useful) plus for an activity that must remain human and based on direct and provoked interactions with all innovation stakeholders, i.e. the construction of "physical" networks. Innovation is above all the result of a state of mind, of taking the initiative, of meeting new people; this cannot be achieved by a computer tool.

  • This type of tool allows you to devote more time to added value (technology evaluation) versus "blind", manual search on a search engine.

  • Think carefully about the structure you need to put in place to take full advantage and maintain the tool (resources, information exchange process, etc.).
