Be prepared to gather information as if you were an explorer in an unknown land. At the very least, you'll need a pen and paper. Opportunities are fortuitous, but your memory is limited, so you might as well take note immediately.
Today's technological tools, such as tablets and smartphones, also make it possible to take notes or photos relatively unobtrusively. But, in my experience, paper is still particularly reliable: no problems with format, electricity... you scribble a little drawing and the essential information is captured in the very short time available.
Involve your staff in capturing data, which you'll be keen to share as soon as possible after the event, in order to re-exploit, exchange and create that permanent intelligence emulation that differentiates companies that go on the offensive...
