4. Our advice

  • Be prepared to gather information as if you were an explorer in an unknown land. At the very least, you'll need a pen and paper. Opportunities are fortuitous, but your memory is limited, so you might as well take note immediately.

  • Today's technological tools, such as tablets and smartphones, also make it possible to take notes or photos relatively unobtrusively. But, in my experience, paper is still particularly reliable: no problems with format, electricity... you scribble a little drawing and the essential information is captured in the very short time available.

  • Involve your staff in capturing data, which you'll be keen to share as soon as possible after the event, in order to re-exploit, exchange and create that permanent intelligence emulation that differentiates companies that go on the offensive...
