6. Our advice

Here are a few principles to bear in mind:

  • For your background map, focus on axes that revolve around the value chain of your activities (operational projects, production activities, etc.).

  • Start with two or three axes and add to them later.

  • Don't hesitate to challenge the existing repositories for "classifying" elements of know-how.

  • Promote your cartography as a guide to accessing, sharing and structuring your organization's know-how.

  • Communicate, support the influence of your cartography as part of the deployment of a common language that it implicitly conveys.
