Benchmarking
Benchmarking is a marketing or quality management technique that involves studying and analyzing the management techniques and organizational methods of other companies, in order to draw inspiration and extract the best from them. It's a continuous process of research, benchmarking, adaptation and implementation of best practices to improve the performance of an organization's processes.
A benchmark is a quantified indicator of performance in a given field (quality, productivity, speed and deadlines, etc.) derived from observation of the results of the most successful company in that field. This indicator can be used to define the objectives of the company seeking to compete with it. (Source: Wikipedia)
