5. Our advice

5.1 Take the time to state your ideal need

This is a difficult process, but one that is of the utmost importance if we are to ensure that we don't close off avenues of innovation from the outset.

Start by using Tool 1 (see Step 2), trying to answer the three questions: Why, for what purpose(s)? How long will it last?

In a second step, and only if you have difficulties, use either Tool 2 (transfer function between an input and an output, see Step 3), or Tool 3 (transformation service between a starting state and a final state, see Step 4).
