1. Analyze your needs to set up a market watch

When setting up a market watch, this step is essential: the need must be clearly identified. If you don't analyze your needs, you risk wasting time and increasing your budget. It's better to take a little time at the outset to know where you're going, so as to be more efficient later on.

To analyze your needs, ask yourself the following questions:

  • In what context do we set up this watch? What is at stake?

  • Who are the recipients of the watch? What are their needs and expectations? To answer this question, it may be necessary to conduct a survey and/or set up a panel of users;

  • what skills and resources are available? Who will be doing the monitoring? Do we have the necessary skills in-house?
