Use clear visualizations and avoid overly complex graphics. Simplicity enables rapid understanding and more effective decision-making. The firefighters on 9/11 didn't have any mind mapping software, but they did use a whiteboard on which mind mapping trees and Post-it notes gave a visual indication, in real time, of the resources available to combat the events.
