4. Environmental aspects

The concept presented is fully in line with the objectives of the National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC), introduced by the Energy Transition for Green Growth Act (LTECV). This roadmap – published in 2015 and revised in 2018-2019 – aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Decarbonization is the very objective of this regional aircraft, which thus fulfills a threefold mission:

  • demonstrate the ability to design and certify a fully carbon-free aircraft, once green hydrogen production is established;

  • respond to the civil aviation market, which is booming in certain regions of the world and is currently served by conventional kerosene-powered aircraft;
