8. Cessation of activity
Faced with the need to close down numerous industrial sites, the French government has defined a policy for the safety and rehabilitation of polluted sites, and has established preventive measures applicable to all facilities in operation, regardless of the applicable administrative regime.
8.1 Mandatory cessation of activity
The operator may lose his right to operate in several cases:
removal of the classified facility by decree of the Conseil d'Etat ;
installation temporarily out of service, due to fire, explosion or any other accident resulting from operation ;
the authorization, registration or declaration lapses if it has not been commissioned...
