3. How to manage the aftermath of an inspection visit?

Inspectors have judicial police powers, enabling them to draw up an official report when they observe breaches of legislation on classified facilities.

At the end of the visit, operators receive :

  • a follow-up letter summarizing the findings of the inspection. If no facts contrary to the applicable regulations were observed during the visit, then this simple letter is equivalent to a report;

  • a copy of the inspection report sent by the inspector to the prefect. This report describes all the findings in detail (regulatory non-compliances, remarks noted, requests for corrective action, observations and prescriptions requiring updating).
