The commissioning of a classified facility is conditional on obtaining, depending on the regime, a declaration receipt, or an authorization or registration order. This start-up is followed by an inspection, since classified facility inspectors are required to carry out an inspection visit to newly authorized or registered facilities, and approved bodies are required to inspect new DC classified facilities within 6 months. Since 1 er July 2013, the inspectors of classified installations have been environmental inspectors, competent to investigate and record offences relating to classified installations and the prevention of pollution, risks and nuisances.
