MMRI requirements are set out in articles 7 and 8 of arrêté du 4 octobre 2010 (prevention of accidental risks within ICPEs subject to authorization).

These two articles call for an initial assessment of MMRIs whose failure could jeopardize the safety of installations, and the development of a monitoring program.
