Interpretation of the state of the environment (IEM)

In the case of EMI, a new situation is not created, but a pre-existing situation is discovered (this may be the result of studies carried out as part of site remediation, but also during self-monitoring of the environment as part of a facility's activity, or following a complaint from a local resident who is concerned about a situation he has discovered...): a state of affairs that may have persisted for a long time is observed, and it may expose interests that are not easy to act upon. The EMI consists in assessing the seriousness of this situation, in order to take any necessary and proportionate corrective measures.
